According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the dental field will grow much faster than the average profession in the decade between 2014 and 2024. At the beginning of that period, the economy supported just over 151,000 dentists, and that number is expected to grow by 18 percent by the end of that period. That translates to more than 26,000 new dentist positions in the coming years.
Much of the demand for dentistry owes to modern demographic trends, like the rising number of senior citizens in America. Like with other kinds of health problems, old age is a risk factor for oral health issues, and often times those issues are more complex or demanding than those of younger patients.
In all, experts foresee increasing need especially for cosmetic and restorative dental providers and support staff like dental assistants. Dr. Avi Malkis does provide these services along with his philosophy of prevention fist dentistry.
